Under the Food Information Regulations 2014 & Natasha’s Law 2021, it is a legal requirement that food business operators provide complete and correct food allergen information to customers. These regulations apply to all catering and retail businesses that serve or sell loose (unwrapped) foods and foods prepacked for direct sale (PPDS) so it is essential that all food handlers understand the implications.
Why is this qualification important?
Developing food allergen awareness is key to complying with the Food Information Regs. 2014 and improving business. Customers must have confidence that the information provided is complete and correct and their food is safe to eat.
With the changes introduced to food labelling legislation in October 2021 it is essential that all food outlets understand the new requirements for labelling of PPDS food (Pre-prepared for Direct Sale).
This course is now available through our centre as a CIEH eLearning course or as blended training. If these methods of learning would be more suitable for your team, or your workplace, please get in touch.

CIEH Foundation Food Allergen Awareness (L2)
“Earlier this year, Jill provided level 2 CIEH Allergen Training for 20 of our food handlers. They are a lively bunch but Jill got their measure quickly and created a positive training environment which encouraged active engagement sparking questions and underpinning learning. For several of the team, English is not their first language but they were supported and we finished with 100% pass rate. I have had lots of positive feedback from the team that their understanding was greatly improved by the experience.”
